Simon serves as the main front end for the open source speech recognition solution. It functions as a Simond client with a graphical user interface for managing speech models and commands. Simon executes commands based on input from the Simond server. It offers a do-it-yourself approach to speech recognition, enabling creation of language and acoustic models from scratch through an end-user interface. Users can download use cases from others and share their own. The architecture supports all languages and dialects, including mixing languages in one model. Command-and-control solutions suit disabled people. This app is unmaintained and no longer released by the KDE community.
